News from CAPT: Child Safety Week 2020

Child Safety Week 2020Child Safety Week (1st – 7th June 2020), brought to you by the Child Accident Prevention Trust, is relevant for anyone working with parents or children.  The theme for 2020 is Safety makes sense! – the aim is to show how much sense it makes for you to get involved and how much you can help the families you care about if you do something.

Families today have instant access to every conceivable piece of advice about bringing up children – google is the new guru grandparent.  The result is a massive pressure to ‘get it right’, to be the perfect parent or present the perfect family profile, and confusion about what actually makes a difference to their children’s lives.

“Many people mentioned the recent TV adverts about washing tablets/pods
being stored up high but most didn
t know the reason for this advice
and were unaware of the serious injuries they can cause.
